The Seniors have one less thing on their IB plates after today – the English and Modern Language “B” Orals have all been completed. So Seniors, cross that one off the list. Next week they will be hard at it again as their IB Mock Exams start on Wednesday, March 15th. We scheduled a break in the middle of this year to give them some time to breathe so, after next weekend they will continue until the following Wednesday (March 22nd). It is going to be a couple of weekends of hard work coming up for them. Good luck Seniors!
A big thank you to Mr. Dingrando, Mr. Reeh and Mr. Anderson for the time and effort that they and their students put into yesterday’s Robolution and Maker Faire. Many schools have an annual Science Fair, but this has become our equivalent and it was absolutely fantastic. As well as the teachers, a big thank you from Mr. Anderson goes out to Sang Yoon, David, Hakeem, Sarah, Sally, Fabian and Danica for their participation. “They really were exemplary ISM students, always on-task and untiring, encouraging the education and interest of the younger grades of the school in the subject of Design Technology. They are truly dedicated, passionate Bearcats and this really was obvious in all of their contributions throughout the whole day. True role models for our younger ISM students! Great work guys!”
Finally, the Sophomore Council have asked me to make a plug for their upcoming event. They are organizing a fun trip to the movies to watch “Beauty and the Beast!”. It’s a family-friendly movie so everyone is encouraged to come. The event will raise money for future projects with the grade 10 service partner, Child Hope, a non-profit organization that advocates for Filipino street children. One of their long term targets is to buy a jeepney for the organization. For more information, check out their website – http://childhope.hope.org.ph/. Here are the details:
- “Beauty and the Beast”. Tickets are sold at P450 and can be paid through the cashier or kiosks.
- March 17, 2017 (Friday). 5:00pm start. Meet at the ES playground at 4:00pm and walk to the cinema
- Open to all of the ISM community
- Uptown Mall Cinema (Cor, 11th Ave, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines)
- Elementary and Middle school students need an adult with an ISM ID to accompany them.
Well done Sophomore Council.
There sure is a lot going on again! Wishing you a restful and relaxing weekend.
