MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week in High School has been “Smile Week”. Each year, the ISM chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) raises funds for Operation Smile (http://www.operationsmile.org.ph/), a world renowned charitable organization that performs hundreds of operations each year on children born with cleft lips and/or cleft palates. The operations are absolutely life-changing; doctors from around the world donate their time to perform these operations. The overhead costs of each operation is Php15,000 and we are asking each homeroom (or pair of homerooms) to donate so that they can fund as many operations as possible again this year. There have been, of course, other fund-raising activities this week. I will keep you posted on the total sum raised and the number of operations funded in a future bulletin. Well done NHS! Fantastic!
Next Tuesday, April 2nd, will be the final high school parent coffee of the year at 7:30am in the Little Theater. The High School Counseling team will be following this agenda:
• Counseling team updates
• College admissions – the process
• College admissions – ISM results
• College admissions – scandal in the US
• Cialfo demonstration – Naviance replacement
• Grade 12 student workshops
Looks like there will be something interesting for everyone, so please come along. See you on Tuesday.

There are a number of fun cultural activities planned for each day of next week, including: mask-making, French Pictionary, a Francophone buffet and a courtyard concert.
April is Autism awareness month and the elementary, middle, and high school have dedicated this week to celebrate the diversity in the ISM community. The counseling team, together with our Student Ambassadors and SENIA reps (Special Education Network in Asia) have been educating students about communities they tend to be misinformed about, as well as promoting the increased understanding and acceptance of people on the autism spectrum. Join us for some fun activities to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder and win some tasty prizes! April 1st to 5th, during lunch, outside the Kantina.
And with that, I wish you all a restful and relaxing weekend.
